Taos Pueblo Artists Contemporary Artists Gary Lujan (Land Eagle) - Painter Land Eagle's paintings provide more than a keyhole view into an ancient culture. But also create a landscape far from what most of us experience in our daily lives. Using bold swaths of red, yellow and black, he captures the essence and visual beauty of a Pueblo sunset or a Pueblo sunrise. With swaths of dark blue, and white he transports us to a place where the mystical elements of lightning or the reflection of a full moon take our imagination to another realm of reality. Pueblo woman silhouetted and blanketed against a red and yellow sky emerge from his canvases as three-dimensional images of strength and warmth. Ethereal ancestors hovering ghostlike in the background of a pueblo dwelling graphically illustrates the generational underpinnings of renewal. Land Eagle's work is intimate and bold, which presents the viewer with a place of wonder that stirs the imagination. With much to offer, Land Eagle's work has been collected widely throughout the country including far reaching cities such as Tokyo, Paris and Stockholm. Recently, Land Eagle's work was chosen as a cover image for a European release of famed author, James Wilson's "The Earth Shall Weep" a history of Native America. Come and enjoy a time in which our world has come from, place yourself in world of intrigue and serenity. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
